Your donation will fund nine months worth of iron supplementation for a pregnant woman in the Afar region of Ethiopia.
 
Over one third of Afar women are anaemic during pregnancy. Severe anemia during pregnancy increases the mothers’ risk of premature birth, having a low birth weight baby or postpartum depression.
 
Low maternal iron levels can also affect cognitive development of the infant and is linked to increases in disease, ill-health and foetal death.
